Job Description 

Are you experienced in operating Snow Cats and looking to train others on Utah’s rugged winter terrain? We’re hiring two Snow Cat Operator Trainers for a seasonal role, from November through April.
This is a great opportunity to work outdoors, lead a team, and contribute to Utah’s outdoor recreation landscape! 

Principle Duties 

  • This is a lead or functional supervisory level job. An incumbent is expected to functionally train other operators and other workers and be able to operate specialized motor equipment including heavy-duty construction equipment.
    Lead or functionally supervise staff; delegate work assignments, monitor/review quality of work, schedule staff, provide technical assistance or training, and/or provide input on performance appraisal
    Operates, maintains, calibrates and adjusts specialized equipment.
    Uses and operates a variety of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and automotive equipment.
    Other duties as assigned

The Ideal Candidate has

  • 2-4 Years of snow grooming experience
    Valid drivers license, Preferred CDL or willing to get one within 30 days of hire.
    Must be able to communicate fluently in English
    Abe to work in adverse winter condition, swing and graveyard positions.
    Knowledge of Pistenbully 100, 400 and Prinoth Husky, Bison. and Mogul Master 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
    Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
    The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions.
    The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
    The ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, so

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of houses, buildings, or other structures such as highways and roads.
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.


Special Working Conditions or Physical Requirements: 

  • Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
    Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.

Certifications/Licenses required at the time of hire or must obtain during probationary period or designated timeframe

Valid CDL or willing to get one within 30 days of hire.
