The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available at Yuba State Park. This appointment will last from approximately mid-May to September, with possibility of extension. Students may work after school/weekends while school is in session.

Job Duties

Ranger Aides perform a variety of tasks including:

  • Staff entrance gates
  • Collect fees
  • Maintain campgrounds, swim platforms, and rental equipment
  • Customer service
  • Janitorial duties
  • Aquatic Invasive Species (Quagga Mussel) interdiction
  • Assist Park Rangers, among other duties

Job Requirements and Skills

  • Follow both oral and written instructions. 
  • Count change and take payment. 
  • Clean restrooms and provide general park information to park visitors. 
  • Perform general maintenance and grounds keeping tasks
  • Use basic tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners, lawn mowers, etc.

Other

Applicants must be willing to work independently in an outdoor setting, and work weekends and holidays. Work may require physical exertion. Some job duties may require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) Applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license and pass a background check. Housing availability is limited and dependent on the needs of the applicant.
