Wildlife Technician II – Great Basin Research Center Project (Equipment Maintenance)

The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources builds, maintains and provides equipment for habitat improvement projects throughout the state. The primary assignment will be welding hardfacing to anchor chains and assisting with equipment upkeep, but the individual in this position may also be asked to assist with GBRC research plot maintenance (see the GBRC Project (Research) announcement for details) as needs arise. Work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Some variations of the schedule may occur (alternate hours or days), depending on work needs.

Most of the work will consist of welding hardfacing to anchor chains and assisting with equipment upkeep. However, the individual may also be asked to assist with GBRC research plot maintenance (see the GBRC Project (Research) announcement for details) as needs arise.
Job requirements and skills
Must be 18 or older to apply. Welding knowledge. Work responsibilities may require moderate physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds. Applicants should be able to pay close attention to details, follow instructions, tolerate repetitive work and work as a team member. Applicants must also be able to work under extreme conditions and/or inclement weather.
