Employment dates: April to September 2024 (ending dates may be flexible depending on school schedule)

The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife Resources, has two seasonal positions available at the Central Region Office in Springville, Utah.

Duties

Duties will include supervising/co-supervising the Division’s Dedicated Hunter projects. Projects include fence maintenance and construction, wildlife guzzler maintenance, facility and equipment maintenance, etc. Employees will be required to travel long distances to job locations; a Division vehicle will be provided for on-the-job travel. Employees may have the opportunity to assist a variety of sections within the DWR throughout the employment period. A typical work week is Wednesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week.

Job requirements and skills

High school diploma or equivalent, and must have a background or interest in wildlife. Must have the ability and willingness to endure strenuous and hard manual labor, lifting up to 60 lbs. Must be willing to work long hours in extreme weather conditions. Also, ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Applicants must have basic construction knowledge, including the ability to construct a fence, run a chainsaw and use hand tools. Working Saturdays is required, and successful applicants will be required to pass a state background check.
