The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, has a seasonal position (no benefits) available at Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah.
Job Duties
These positions will assist full-time staff with the full range of park operations. Positions will cover visitor center, entrance station and gift shop operations including greeting guests, selling passes, answering phones, providing information and customer service, selling gift shop merchandise, and maintaining gift shop inventory and stocking.
The position will also assist with, or present, educational programs, perform light trail work, and assist with search and rescue and other emergency response duties.
Job Requirements and Skills
Because this job requires the driving of state vehicles, applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and be able to successfully pass a fingerprint/national criminal history background check. Applicants must be able to operate a computer with internet-based programs and be willing to work in an outdoor setting with shifts that include weekends, holidays, and evenings. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, and lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Experience as a ranger or in a park setting, or related education is preferred. Cash handling experience and First Aid/CPR certification are preferred but not required.

Incumbent must be able to work in extreme and adverse weather conditions (heat, wind, snow, ice, rain, etc.). The park is in a very remote setting and a personal vehicle is generally needed for personal errands and shopping.
