Examples of Duties
To perform a variety of general maintenance duties including cleaning restroom and shower facilities; cleaning parking lots and emptying garbage cans. Perform a variety of general grounds-keeping duties including mowing lawns; monitoring/adjusting irrigation systems; weed removal and control; and trimming roadside and trailside shrubs and plants. Provide general visitor information and answer visitor questions regarding fees, facilities, and recreation opportunities. Assist in AIS interdiction and decontamination efforts by using high pressure sprayers. Other duties as they are assigned.
Job Requirements and Skills
Employee will have the ability to follow both oral and written instructions. Be able to perform general maintenance and grounds keeping, and use basic tools such as shovels, rakes, pruners/hand saws, etc. Be able to work well with other staff members and the visiting public. Ability to enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in either written or electronic form.
Applicant must be willing to work independently in an outdoor setting, and work weekends and holidays. Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time. Applicant must be at least 17 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license and undergo a background check.
