Park Ranger Aide (Hyrum State Park)

Hours Per Week: Up to 40 hours per week (accepting full and part-time hour positions)

The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available at Hyrum State Park in Hyrum, Utah. This appointment will last from approximately mid-May to Labor Day, with the possibility of an extension. Housing is not provided. 

Examples of Duties
Assist in the operation of Hyrum State Park. Duties will involve greeting park visitors and helping them discover the park’s resources and how to enjoy them appropriately; staffing the entrance station; collecting park fees; checking in and assisting incoming campers. Additional duties include maintenance of buildings, grounds, and trails; along with a variety of groundskeeping duties, assisting with the removal of non-native plant species, and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Skills
Applicant must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid Utah Driver’s license at the time of employment. Applicant should have the ability to work outdoors in a recreational environment. Preference may be given to applicants with cash handling, customer service or equipment operation experience, and education in a natural resource-related field.

Other
Applicants must be willing to work in an outdoor setting, and work weekends and holidays. Applicants must successfully pass a criminal history background check upon hire.
