The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks, has a lead seasonal position (no benefits) available at Huntington, Millsite and Scofield State Parks with the position home base in Huntington, Utah. This employment will last from approximately June 2024 through October 2024, with the possibility of an extension. Housing is not provided.

Examples of Duties
Assisting in the operation of Huntington, Millsite and Scofield State Parks including both Madsen Bay and Mountain View campgrounds. Duties will involve greeting park visitors; collecting park fees; assisting gate staff with any issues that may arise. Additional duties include maintenance of buildings, grounds and trails; groundskeeping work; and performing other duties as assigned. Complete accurate reports of all situations that involve maintenance issues, safety, and security of the guests and employees in a timely manner. Inform patrons of the rules and policies of the parks. Respond to emergency situations. Assist and cooperate with local law enforcement agencies when needed.

Job Requirements and Skills
Applicants must have a valid Utah driver’s license. Applicants should have the ability to work independently and make rational decisions. Have problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Must wear DNR required uniform. Will travel between parks. May perform duties in a variety of different environments, including an office, field, rugged terrain, and various weather conditions (extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, sleet, etc.

Mandatory weekends and holidays. Must successfully pass a background check upon hire. Preference may be given to applicants with cash handling, customer service experience, and education in a natural resource-related field.
