The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks, has one (1) seasonal, time-limited, JOURNEY MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST position available at Bear Lake State Park near Garden City and Laketown, Utah. It is anticipated that this position will work 40 hours per week through the summer months and a lesser number of hours during the off-season months for up to an approximate total of 1500 hours. Benefits are not provided. Housing options may be available.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Assist in the daily operations of Bear Lake State Park: perform general maintenance and upkeep of the park buildings, facilities, grounds, and associated equipment; clean park restrooms and facilities; provide excellent customer service; perform aquatic invasive species education and decontaminations; greet park visitors and provide park information; collect park fees; and, perform other tasks as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older and possess a valid Utah Drivers License at the time of employment.
  • Applicants shall have the ability to operate a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.
  • Applicants shall have the ability to work assigned shifts, which may include weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Applicants shall have the ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in an outdoor recreation and tourism environment.
  • Applicants must be able to competently operate a computer with Internet-based programs.

Preference may be given to applicants with experience in:

  • performance of maintenance, repairs, and
  • upkeep of park facilities, equipment, and buildings;
  • operation of various maintenance and groundskeeping equipment;
  • possessing a Commercial Drivers License;
  • working well with other people and providing customer service; and,
  • education and/or schooling in a natural resource or parks and recreation-related field.
