The Utah Department of Natural Resources, Division of State Parks, has seasonal positions (no benefits) available at East Canyon State Park in Morgan, Utah. This appointment will last approximately 4-5 months, with the possibility of an extension.

Job Duties
Applicants will be selected based on experience and qualifications for placement into one of the three job types:

  • Concession – In this position, you’ll handle various responsibilities, including answering phones, greeting customers, and managing monetary transactions with precision. Additionally, you will oversee the rental process for watercraft, manage concessions, and maintain a well-organized inventory. Strong organizational skills, a friendly demeanor, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.
  • Gate Attendant – This dynamic role involves adeptly managing financial transactions, overseeing camping reservations, and ensuring exceptional customer service. From indoor tasks to outdoor responsibilities, you’ll play a crucial part in enhancing the overall experience for park visitors.
  • Maintenance – Your role is crucial in ensuring the park’s pristine condition. Engage in daily cleaning, groundskeeping, and various projects. Additionally, contribute to environmental conservation by conducting decontamination procedures at launch ramps, preventing Aquatic Invasive Species. This position offers a dynamic mix of indoor and outdoor work, providing a hands-on opportunity to enhance and safeguard the park’s natural resources.

Job Requirements and Skills
Ideal candidates should have proficiency in tasks like daily cleaning, groundskeeping, inventory management, and efficient transaction handling. A positive work demeanor, adaptability to dynamic environments, and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential. All candidates should be 16 years or older, possess a valid driver’s license (if applicable), and be available for weekend and holiday work. Specific preferences for education and experience may vary based on the role.

Other
Applicants must be willing to work in an outdoor setting, including adverse weather conditions (heat, wind, snow, ice, rain, etc.), and work weekends and holidays. The ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds, stand for long periods, bend, stoop, and adhere to other safety protocols is essential. Successful candidates will also be required to pass a criminal history background check upon hire.
